Io e i Linkin Park (Ciao Chester!) / Me and Linkin Park (Goodbye Chester!)

Limp Bizkit, ...

Ormai facevano parte di me.

On July 20, 2017, at Palos Verdes Estates, he committed suicide at the age of 41-year-old Chester Charles Bennington, songwriter and frontman of Linkin Park.
This news for me was a lightning strike, as if someone had raped my adolescence, because the Linkin Park were among the first groups to bring me closer to the rock world.

It was 2001, at that time through my cousins I discovered the channel MTV and it was a period in which I started to mature my musical listening that definitely detached from the "Fivelandia" of Cristina D'Avena. I liked pop pop then, but I had a big boost for rock music: Foo Fighters, Blink 182, Green Day. Limp Bizkit, ...

In 1999, I purchased the soundtrack of the second Austin Powers soundtrack and in there were "90 pieces" like Lenny Kravitz, REM, The Who, etc.
Back in 2001, there was a song that was often in the MTV rankings in the top places: it was "In The End" of Linkin Park.
It was the first track I listened to and was immediately struck by a lightning strike.
Then the next songs were fantastic: "Points Of Authority" (also counting its remix "PTS.OF.ATHRTY"), "Crawling", "Papercut", "One Step Closer" ...

It came in 2003, in Italy, besides MTV there was All Music (now Nove TV) and released their first single for the album "Meteora": "Somwhere I Belong".
With that piece I did not resist: that album I should have !!!
I had a Sony Walkman who played tapes, so I managed to buy the album in this format despite almost extinction ...
When I crashed "play" the first time ... my God !!!
As written by a magazine, it was a real fiery ball of energy that started from the intro "Foreword" to finish with "Faint" on Side A and then start with "Figure.09" finishing the entire Side B with "Numb".
It was great, I never heard such an energetic album with all the anger but at the same time with the joy of living screaming in the world!

I spent days and days listening to that album, more than once a day.
My cousin had a recorded tape with inside the album "Hybrid Theory" and then I made a copy and then bought it later.
So at least I had two albums to be able to listen to, while on the sheets I was drawing both my characters and them. They were part of me.

In the following years I lost sight of you, because I started listening to other groups and other music, because "What I've Done" did not make me crazy like the previous ones and I missed it.

But in 2012 there was a rapprochement to them with the album "Living Things".
The Linkin Park were no longer the ones I once knew, but that album had "something" that reminded me of the very first album and then I replayed them again until they lost them again.

2017: Linkin Park returns, and the first single is "Heavy".
And no, that song I did not like at all! Not so much because it's a "pop" song, but because it's a "mediocre pop" and for a band like the Linkin Park is a terrible thing.
For the sake of completeness I also heard the album "One More Night", an album that would not hurt if not because it was Linkin Park. And I expect them to do better.

The thing I've always liked about Linkin Park is the desire to change, to make albums other than the previous ones, the desire to dictate the public's response indiscriminately.
This is something that many singers or bands are missing because they prefer to do the same music in order to satisfy their audience, but an artist creates a work for pleasure first and then to the public.
You do not like it? Patience, will be for another time!

From the earliest album Chester Bennington faced his screams afraid, with Mike Shonoda's rap interlude. It was a nice warning, the invitation to scream in fear and insecurity.
Unfortunately, Chester did not have enough of her songs, her audience, her band / friends and her family to defeat her demons.
But we will continue to face them as always, with high head, with the Linkin Park music at Chester's cry: SHUT UUUUUUUUP !!!!!!!.

New video on YouTube channel to wish you a GREAT SUMMER!!!!

This is a video made quickly to wish you a happy summer!
The cartoons were made "live" while listening to the song without having anything already written.
In the future I hope to make videos like this and made with more care!
This is just a taste of what I'd like to do on this channel!

The song is "Tu e l'estate" by The Bam Bams from the soundtrack of the movie "L'Ultimo Bacio" of 2001 (which I never saw, LOL!).
It is no coincidence that I chose a song "unknown", because it is part of my intentions!
And ...

Yes, I admit that for me Sio continues to be a source of inspiration.
The important thing though is that the source of inspiration to create beautiful and original content without falling into oblivion of "copy! 111! ".
That said, Subscribe to my channel if you haven't done and see you soon!
